Please join us for a Cuddle Coats prep session followed by delicious vegan pizza from Galactic. During this session, we will be prepping donated fur coats and accessories for shipment to wildlife rehabilitation centers. This means removing all buttons, zippers etc, so feel free to bring a pair of sharp scissors or seam ripper of your own if you'd like, though we have several for people to use. Some people like to bring a lint roller for getting fur off their clothes at the end, but please wear clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty. This is a great opportunity for teens and mature kids to help out, too, and is a low-key way to volunteer for a bit and meet some of the other people in the group, while doing something concrete to save lives. Location is Animal Rights Coalition office (co-located with Ethique Nouveau) in Minneapolis. RSVP at Animal Rights Meetup: https://www.meetup.com/Minnesota-Animal-Rights-Meetup/

We will be doing Virtual Reality Pay Per View outreach and vegan food sampling at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN today from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Pay Per View is an innovative form of outreach where people are offered $1.00 to view a short 3D film about the lives of animals used for food and then go home with information about how changing to a plant-based diet can make a huge difference for the animals, the earth, and themselves. This is a life-changing experience for many viewers.

May Day Parade

2019-05-05 11:00:00
Join ARC in marching in the May Day Parade on the first Sunday of May. This is the last year the parade will be held, so it would be great to have a big crew to stand up for animals. Our theme this year is Speciesism and we will have signs displaying positive messages questioning why some animals are called pets, while others are called food. This is a family event with children of all ages. DRESS CODE: If you have a BLACK ARC shirt or Vegan Compassion shirt from Ethique Nouveau, please wear it. Otherwise, please wear BLACK so our group is in the same color. If it's a BLACK vegan shirt, even better! The parade is supposed to begin moving at noon, but has been late in the past. We will be meeting in Powderhorn Park at 11:00 am to get everyone organized. RSVP on Animal Rights Meetup.

Join AmyLeo Barankovich, of Vegan Affairs Minnesota, for an interactive, thought-provoking conversation about moving towards being your best voice for the animals. It seems to be human nature to speak “wildly” when our emotions lead the conversation. Being an effective animal advocate requires putting into practice a set of tools that we can access once we are aware of them and know how to best use them. Location is Penn Lake Library, 8800 Penn Ave. S in Bloomington from 6:00-8:00 p.m. RSVP for this free event at Minnesota Animal Rights Meetup.

Join us for an ARC Volunteer Day at Chicken Run Rescue. RSVP at Vegan Meetup as soon as possible as this popular event is limited to 12 people. Now that Spring is here, there will be plenty of clean up outside to get things ready for the birds to soak up the sun and take their dust baths. Chicken Run Rescue has been rehabilitating and making a home for injured and abandoned chickens since 2001. Please join ARC’s Chicken Chore Party at CRR as we help to get the birds’ playgrounds ready for spring. We will be performing any tasks that need doing, including garden work. There will be plenty of variety for all levels of strength and mobility. Vegan refreshments will be provided. Event is from noon to 3:00 PM. CRR is located in the South Metro area about 30 minutes from Minneapolis and St. Paul. For security reasons, CRR is a closed sanctuary open only to staff, volunteers, and invited guests.
