We have had lots of volunteers join ARC within the last few months and so we want to kick off the new year with a new volunteer orientation. Please join Ashley and Kelsey to learn about our mission, goals, and values. Some of the things we will discuss: what volunteers do at events, how we present our message to the public, how to communicate effectively with the public, how to use our Virtual Reality Headsets, and much more. We will answer all of your questions and share upcoming volunteer opportunities. Location is the ARC office, 317 W 48th St. in Minneapolis (co-located with the vegan boutique Ethique Nouveau). Please RSVP at Animal Rights Meetup: https://www.meetup.com/Minnesota-Animal-Rights-Meetup/

Please join us for a peaceful protest outside of Bluebird Boutique, 3909 50th St W in Edina from noon-1:00 p.m. We want to educate the public about why selling fur is cruel and unnecessary in 2019. Animals used for fur may be anally electrocuted, gassed, or drowned after spending their lives in small cages. They deserve better than this! Signs will be provided. RSVP on the Animal Rights Coalition Facebook event.

ARC will be doing Virtual Reality Pay Per View outreach at Northwestern University in St. Paul today from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Pay Per View is an innovative form of outreach where people are offered $1.00 to view a short 3D film about the lives of animals used for food and then go home with information about how changing to a plant-based diet can make a huge difference for the animals, the earth, and themselves. This is a life-changing experience for many viewers.

Join AmyLeo Barankovich, of Vegan Affairs Minnesota, for an interactive, thought-provoking conversation about moving towards being your best voice for the animals. It seems to be human nature to speak “wildly” when our emotions lead the conversation. Being an effective animal advocate requires putting into practice a set of tools that we can access once we are aware of them and know how to best use them. Location is Penn Lake Library from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
