Join us for a presentation on palm oil at East Lake Library, 2727 E Lake St, given by Karrie Vrabel - local Animal Rights Coalition, MN350, and Rainforest Action Network volunteer. Palm oil in everyday products creates rainforest deforestation, species extinction, climate change, and abusive child labor. Rainforest Action Network is working to move the snack food industry to commit to sustainable practices. You can be a part of this movement and help save Orangutans from extinction. Karrie will show a short video followed by a short presentation and there will be time for questions and answers afterward. RSVP at Animal Rights Meetup.

Join us for ARC's first volunteer meeting of June to talk about easy actions we can take in our community to help animals. The internet can be a difficult place for animal rights activists, but it can also be immensely effective in making changes to benefit animals. It's an extremely useful tool for those who aren't able to make it to AR events. We will be discussing upcoming events and actions you can take to help animals. As always, volunteer meetings are held at ARC's all vegan, cruelty-free boutique, Ethique Nouveau, 317 W 48th St. in Minneapolis. The store closes at 6 pm, but the door will be open to join us. You don't have to be an ARC member to attend these meetings (and you don't have to be vegan or vegetarian either.). You will be welcome no matter where you are in your journey toward living a more compassionate life. We hope to see you there.

ARC is a sponsor of Equality Squared: Gender Equity in the Animal Advocacy Community. This free daylong workshop at the University of Minnesota will equip advocates with the skills to resist interpersonal and institutional sexism. Free lunch will be provided. All genders are part of the solution, so we encourage all to attend and will create a welcoming environment for everyone.

Join us for a peaceful protest to educate the public about why fur has no place in 2019. Animals shouldn't be forced to live in tiny cages, only to meet their death by anal electrocution, gassing, or drowning. Signs and literature will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own as well. Location is Ribnick Fur and Leather, 224 N 1st St in Minneapolis from noon to 1:30 P.M.

Stop by the ARC booth at the Kingfield Farmers Market from 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM. The market is at 4310 Nicollet Ave. S. in Minneapolis. We will be giving out info about how to go vegan and recipes for using all the veggies people get at the market, and talking to people about farmed animal issues.

Join ARC, Bailing out Benji, and Puppy Mill Free Minnesota for a peaceful protest against Four Paws and a Tail on public property near Northtown Mall, 398 Northtown Drive NE, Blaine, Minnesota from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Meet at the intersection of County Road 10 and Jefferson, on the grassy area in front of Chipotle. Signs are provided but you are welcome to bring your own. We oppose Four Paws and a Tails business model of buying companion animals from breeding facilities and selling them to the public. We also oppose the idea that because a breeding facility is USDA licensed, it is ethical. RSVP at Minnesota Animal Rights Meetup.
