ARC is joining Bailing out Benji and Puppy Mill Free Minnesota for a peaceful protest against Four Paws and a Tail on public property near Northtown Mall, 398 Northtown Dr. NE, Blaine, Minnesota from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Meet at the intersection of County Rd 10 and Jefferson. We will stand in the grassy area in front of the Chipotle. Signs are provided or bring your own. We oppose Four Paws and a Tail's business model of buying companion animals from intensive breeding facilities and selling them to the public. We also oppose the idea that because a breeding facility is USDA licensed, it is humane or ethical. Note this is an ongoing event, ARC will post events for the protests we are re able to be present at, but for other dates, see the Bailing Out Benji Facebook events page. If possible, RSVP at MN Animal Rights Meetup: https://www.meetup.com/Minnesota-Animal-Rights-Meetup/

We will be doing Virtual Reality Pay Per View outreach at Augsburg University in Minneapolis today. Pay Per View is an innovative form of outreach where people are offered $1.00 to view a short 3D film about the lives of animals used for food and then go home with information about how changing to a plant-based diet can make a huge difference for the animals, the earth, and themselves. This is a life-changing experience for many viewers.

During this volunteer meeting and Cuddle Coats prep session we will be prepping donated fur coats and accessories for shipment to partner wildlife rehabilitation centers. This means removing all buttons, zippers etc., so feel free to bring a pair of sharp scissors or seam ripper (optional: we have several for people to use). Some people like to bring a lint roller for getting fur off their clothes at the end but please wear clothes that you can get a little dirty. This is a great opportunity for teens and mature kids to help out too, and is a low-key, low-commitment way to volunteer and meet other people in the group while doing something concrete to save animal lives. Vegan pizza and beverages will be provided at the end of the prep session. Location is ARC office (co-located with Ethique Nouveau), 317 W 48th St. in Minneapolis. Please register at Animal Rights Meetup: https://www.meetup.com/Minnesota-Animal-Rights-Meetup/

The food will be bountiful and delicious when you join ARC and friends for the 25th Annual Turkey-Free Friendsgiving Potluck! Water and coffee will be provided, along with a variety of delicious vegan cheeses for you to sample. You do not need to be vegan or vegetarian to attend. Bring a vegan main dish, side dish, or dessert to share with others, including a serving spoon (vegan = no meat, dairy, eggs, gelatin, honey, or refined sugar). Figure on your dish serving about 10 people. Bring a list of ingredients in your dish so we can be allergy-friendly. This is a wonderful event to bring your friends and family to and show them how delicious vegan holiday eating can be. We are looking forward to sharing a special meal with all of our friends, both longtime and brand new. Location is Living Spirit United Methodist Church, 4501 Bloomington Ave. in Minneapolis. Event is from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Please RSVP on the event on the Animal Rights Coalition Facebook page or on Vegan Meetup: https://www.meetup.com/vegan-415/

If you're a Minnesotan, you've probably heard of Give to the Max Day, our state's awesome annual day of giving. For 24 hours on this day, midnight to midnight, non-profit organizations ask for your support to make the world a better place. This year, a generous supporter of ARC's work to help animals has pledged to match all donations made to ARC. This is an amazing opportunity to donate to help animals and know your contribution will make a huge difference. If you've never donated to ARC before, this is the time to do it. You can donate at the Animal Rights Coalition page on givemn.org: https://www.givemn.org/organization/Animal-Rights-Coalition

The holidays can be some of the toughest times for vegans when trying to balance relationships with family and friends and your own beliefs. This discussion will address issues like attending non-vegan holidays get-togethers, entertaining family members, whether to skip holiday events altogether, and more. This is an opportunity to share experiences and give advice to one another. This event can also be helpful for those who may not be vegan, but who have vegan family members and friends, and would like to understand how they can be supportive. Vegan snacks will be provided, but feel free to bring something to contribute Location is the ARC office (co-located with Ethique Nouveau) at 317 W 48th St. in Minneapolis. Please register at Vegan Meetup for this free workshop: https://www.meetup.com/vegan-415/

Join Animal Rights Coalition at a Fur Free Friday protest at Ribnick Luxury Outerwear (224 N 1st St, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55401), a store with over 70 years of profiting from the confinement and slaughter of animals. After protesting Ribnick, we will walk over to L.A. Rockler Fur Company (16 North Fourth Street Minneapolis, MN 55401) to protest there too. Rockler sells fur from all sorts of animals, including minks and rabbits, along with their leather products. Signs and literature will be provided, but feel free to make your own as well. This will be a peaceful protest. We intend to have productive conversations with customers and offer them literature to give them something to consider. Protests go from noon-2:30 p.m.
