The holidays can be some of the toughest times for vegans when balancing relationships with family and friends and your beliefs. This discussion will address issues like attending non-vegan holiday events, entertaining family members, whether to boycott holidays altogether, and more. This is an opportunity for us to share our experiences and give advice to one another in this often challenging time. This event can also be helpful for those who may not be vegan, but who have vegan family members and would like to understand how they can be supportive! Vegan snacks will be provided, but feel free to bring something to contribute. Event is at Animal Rights Coalition office (co-located with Ethique Nouveau, our vegan boutique) at 317 W 48th St. in Minneapolis from 6:00-7:30 PM.

The food will be bountiful and delicious when you join ARC and friends for the 26th Annual Turkey-Free Friendsgiving Potluck. All are welcome. You do not have to be vegan or vegetarian to attend. Beverages will be provided, along with a variety of vegan cheeses and vegan turkey roasts to sample. Bring a vegan main dish, side dish, or dessert to share, along with a serving spoon (vegan = no meat, dairy, eggs, gelatin, honey, or refined sugar). Your dish should serve at least 10 people. Please bring a list of ingredients so we can be allergy-friendly and bring your own plate and utensils if possible. This is a wonderful event to bring your friends and family to and show them how delicious vegan holiday eating can be. We are looking forward to sharing a special meal with all of our friends, longtime and brand new. Location is Living Spirit United Methodist Church, 4501 Bloomington Ave. in Minneapolis from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Please RSVP at the Facebook event link given so we know how many people to expect. Thanks to the Herbivorous Butcher for their support and donation of vegan cheese and turkey roast!

Join Kelsey at Century College to talk to college students about how animals are raised for food. We will have virtual reality pay-per-view headsets showing three different videos of basic farming practices through the eyes of chickens, pigs, or cows used for dairy. Students are given $1 to watch one of the three videos and have a conversation with us afterward about what they saw. Students who choose not to watch can ask us questions instead and take literature with them as they leave. **If you are interested in volunteering, please email Kelsey, our Volunteer Coordinator, at Kelsey@animalrightscoalition.com for more information. If you are a student and would like ARC to come to your campus, please email Kelsey.

Join AmyLeo Barankovich, of Vegan Affairs Minnesota, for an interactive, thought-provoking conversation about moving towards being your best voice for the animals. It seems to be human nature to speak “wildly” when our emotions lead the conversation. Being an effective animal advocate requires putting into practice a set of tools that we can access once we are aware of them and know how to best use them. Location is Penn Lake Library, 8800 Penn Ave. S in Bloomington from 6:00-8:00 p.m. RSVP for this free event at the link below.

Please join us in an educational discussion about the cruel and unnecessary business of profiting off an animal's skin. We will be joined by Mysti, organizer of the local campaign, Fur-Free Minneapolis, to learn about the fur industry and get motivated to take action for animals. Each year, we hold a protest outside Ribnick in Minneapolis on the day after Thanksgiving on Fur-Free Friday, to educate the community about the cruel business of fur. We would love to never have to protest outside of this store again. Join us at the meeting AND the Fur-Free Friday protest on 11/29 and let's end the sale of fur in Minneapolis for good! Meeting location is ARC office (co-located with Ethique Nouveau) at 317 W 48th St. in Minneapolis.
