Join us to view the 40-minute documentary "Processed People." Learn from nine health and environmental experts/advocates who discuss how and why we got into this mess and what we can do to break the "processed people" cycle. Location is the ARC office (co-located with Ethique Nouveau), 317 W 48th St. in Minneapolis. If you arrive after we have started the film, please contact the number on the door of the office and we will come upstairs to let you in. You don't have to be an ARC member to attend these meetings (and you don't have to be a vegetarian or vegan either). You will be welcomed no matter where you are in your journey toward living a more compassionate life. Please join us. We'd like to get to know you, and the animals need your help! Vegan drinks and snacks will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own vegan drinks and/or snacks to share with the group. After the screening, we will have time to discuss the documentary and talk about upcoming volunteer opportunities. If possible, please RSVP at MN Animal Rights Meetup so we know the quantity of snacks to provide: https://www.meetup.com/Minnesota-Animal-Rights-Meetup/

ARC is joining Bailing out Benji and Puppy Mill Free Minnesota for a peaceful protest against Four Paws and a Tail on public property near Northtown Mall, 398 Northtown Dr. NE, Blaine, Minnesota from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Meet us at the intersection of County Rd 10 and Jefferson. We will stand in the grassy area in front of the Chipotle. Signs are provided or bring your own. We oppose Four Paws and a Tail's business model of buying companion animals from intensive breeding facilities and selling them to the public. We also oppose the idea that because a breeding facility is USDA licensed, it is humane or ethical. Note this is an ongoing event, ARC will post events for the protests we're able to be present at, but for other dates, see the Bailing Out Benji Facebook events page. If possible, RSVP at MN Animal Rights Meetup (optional).

You want to go vegan, but you have all these questions. It would be nice if you could just ask them all in one sitting and have a knowledgeable and caring vegan give straight-forward answers. Matt Johnson, a long-time ARC volunteer, is visiting from the Northwest and is ready to answer your questions. Nutrition, ethics, environment, how to gently explain to Grandma that her banana bread is not vegan ... and how to teach her to make it vegan! This workshop is fun, laid back and informative. Location: Boneshaker Books, 2002 23rd Ave. S in Minneapolis from 2:30-5:00 p.m. Register for this free workshop at at Vegan Meetup: http://www.meetup.com/vegan-415
