Time for outside vegan running once again as it is finally warm enough to feel like spring. We will meet at the East River Road Trail on Summit Avenue in St. Paul at 6:00pm. There is a small parking lot there for parking. If need be we will break up for faster paced folks and a bit slower. Stop by the ARC booth at this annual walk which raises awareness and donations for no-kill animal rescues and shelters. We will be passing out information about our Petland campaign. The walk is being held from 9:00am-2:00pm at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds at the International Bazaar

Are you newly vegan, know someone who is, or looking to expand your plant-based diet? Join Ben Bockover, vegan and a co-op employee, as he guides you on a tour of the Wedge Co-op, 2105 Lyndale Ave S in Minneapolis. You will learn simple tips for reading labels, discover products you overlooked in the past, and have your questions on veganism answered. With help from Ben, you can make health-conscious choices about what you eat. While it is not required, we do appreciate donations of a couple of dollars to help defray the cost of Meetup fees. Come join us at Ethique Nouveau (317 West 48th Street in Minneapolis) for a reading and book signing on May 12th at 5:00pm as we hear from the authors and editors of Confronting Animal Exploitation, a new anthology that gives voice to grassroots activists living in and around the Twin Cities. Highlights of the newly released book include an oral history of the Animal Rights coalition, and essays by staff and board members of the organization. Join us as we launch a new component of Vegan University, called Vegan Nutrition 101. This workshop will provide both new and experienced vegans with an in-depth look at sources of necessary nutrients in an animal-free diet. The workshop will also answer the age old question: where do you get your protein? Attendees will also learn about other nutrients such as B12, Omega 3, and iron. Join us at our Fourth Annual Vegan Waffle Party - yes, that time of year when the waffles are piping hot and the toppings seemingly endless. This delicious waffle brunch goes from 10am until 11:30am at the Fuller Park building located at 4800 Grand Ave. S (the corner of 48th St. W and Grand Ave. S). All you need to do is bring one tasty topping to share. Soy vanilla ice cream anyone. Peanut butter and banana. What about some bee-free honey with cinnamon. Whatever you bring should be 100 percent vegan, and all ingredients listed on the packaging or on a note card. Bring your own reusable plate and utensils. The event is free and Fuller Park has a playground and a field perfect for tossing a frisbee. And you are only a stones throw from Ethique Nouveau, the only 100% vegan store in Minnesota, at 317 W 48th St. So after a delicious waffle brunch, stop by Ethique Nouveau where we will be sampling the newest vegan ice cream option, LUV NICE CREAM starting at 11:00am.
