Inspection PDFs

The 2014 and 2015 Minnesota and Iowa Certificate of Veterinary Inspection forms contained in the first and third PDF files below are filed with the Minnesota Board of Animal Health when a breeder sells and transports a puppy to Petland. The forms show the seller name, number and breed of puppies being transported, and the date.

The USDA Inspection Reports contained in the second PDF file below show the number of adult dogs and puppies at USDA licensed puppy breeders and sellers. Note that Heritage Puppies in Iowa had 443 adult dogs and 101 puppies on the premises as of the date of the USDA inspection shown. Menning Enterprises in Minnesota had 513 adult dogs and 289 puppies as of the date of the USDA inspection shown. Both Heritage and Menning have sold puppies to Petland.

Note that Menning not only breeds puppies for profit, but also obtains puppies from other breeders and then resells them. For example, we found a sale of dachshund puppies, just 8 weeks old when shipped, from Clearwater Kennels in Minnesota to Menning on August 19, 2014, as shown in the last PDF file below. Clearwater is the largest puppy mill (intensive breeding facility) in Minnesota with over 1,000 dogs (738 adult dogs and 312 puppies) on the property as of the date of the USDA inspection shown.
