Sometimes we need to embrace our inner hippie and eat at a grassroots run community cafe, because they are awesome. So join us for brunch at Seward Community Cafe, 2129 East Franklin Avenue, Minneapolis. Super tofu green earth calling your name? Yeah, we thought so. (Super tofu green earth is tofu, hash browns, onions, and broccoli... yum.) Make sure to bring check or cash because Seward does NOT accept credit cards. Vegan Runners Meetup

The weather has definitely taken a turn for the awesome, so time to hit the great outdoors! Lake Harriet is a bit less crowded than Calhoun and offers a flat, paved surface. Meet at the Lake Harriet Band Shell at 43rd St W and E Lake Harriet Pkwy in Minneapolis. There are pay lots very close, so it should be easy peasy to find a space. Vegan Community Circle

At Ethique Nouveau, 317 W 48th St. in Minneapolis from 2-4 pm. We had an amazing turnout for our last Vegan Community Circle and lots of enthusiasm for this to continue, so here we go! This time we will be discussing family: How does our veganism impact our family relationships? How do we bridge differences with our family around this issue? When is it time to draw the line when it comes to differences around traditions? We will look at these questions and more, share our stories, and ask for ideas on how to handle any situations you may be facing. Group will be moderated by Dallas Rising, Animal Rights Coalition Program Director.

Petland Demonstration

Join ARC at a peaceful demonstration at the Petland store in Shakopee. Millions of animals are being killed in shelters across the country and yet the Petland retail chain continues to encourage the selling of yet more animals for profit. The stores in the chain support puppy mills by purchasing their puppies and kittens from large-scale brokers and/or directly from puppy and kitten mill operations throughout the U.S. Responsible breeders do not mass produce puppies and kittens or sell to pet stores. Peaceful store protests have proven successful in other states in educating consumers about inhumane breeding. If you can bring your own sign, please do. Some signs will be available there. Movie Night!

A vegan movie night was suggested at a Seward Cafe Meetup so here it is. The idea is that people would bring over movie snacks (i.e. their favorite popcorn with nutritional yeast, delicious chip dip, vegan pizza, anything is welcome as long as it is vegan) and it would be mostly BYOB. We pop in a movie (which people could bring and we could all vote on or something, does not have to be related to veganism.)
