We will also have real life models of a bullfrog and cat and a virtual reality set with a dissection program to show how effective the alternatives are.

Please join us in protesting SeaQuest's cruelty to animals!
SeaQuest aquariums are plagued by animal welfare issues, animal deaths, legal violations, and injuries to employees and the public from direct contact with animals. The company continues to be hit with neglect allegations, often from former employees, and it’s notorious for exploiting animals for entertainment.
Signs will be provided but you're welcome to bring your own as long as it's consistent with our message.
We will be on public property near the mall, please see the map.
You can park in the side lot, just a crosswalk away from where we'll be standing, near Portillos.
Local news, KSTP, has covered SeaQuest's animal exploitation, neglect concerns, and has given a voice to previous employees.
Read more information about SeaQuest here.

Bethel Pay-Per-View Outreach
Bethel Pay-Per-View Outreach
November 4, 2024 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Bethel University
𝗦𝗜𝗚𝗡 𝗨𝗣 𝗧𝗢 𝗩𝗢𝗟𝗨𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗘𝗥: https://dash.pointapp.org/events/217243
Join the Animal Rights Coalition at Bethel University to engage students in meaningful conversations about animal rights and the benefits of adopting a vegan lifestyle!
We'll be tabling in the Atrium of Brushaber Commons (BC) with pay-per-view virtual reality headsets that give students a first-hand look into the harsh realities of factory farming. Participants can watch from the perspective of a chicken, pig, or cow to see how animals raised for food endure suffering before ending up in grocery store packages. For each student who watches, we’ll offer $3 and have a follow-up conversation to discuss what they’ve seen.
Volunteers are needed to distribute informative literature, set up and assist with the VR headsets, and talk with students about animal rights, veganism, and their own experience.

Dine Out at Thanh Luong Vegetarian
Dine Out at Thanh Luong Vegetarian
November 5, 2024 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Join Nick, one of the Animal Rights Coalition Dine Out hosts, for dinner at Thanh Luong Vietnamese Vegetarian Restaurant! This is a great opportunity to meet like-minded folks and have a delicious meal while supporting restaurants with awesome vegan options.
Everyone is welcome! You do not need to be vegan to attend (everything ordered at this event needs to be vegan though). The menu is not specifically marked with vegan items, but they can make any item on the menu vegan except for the cream cheese wontons, egg sandwich, and milk teas.
Check out their menu - they have a lot of really good options! https://thanhluongchay.com//menu.php
Parking: There is a parking lot with plenty of space.
RSVP Agreement: Please make sure to keep your RSVP up to date! These dine outs often fill up fast with people added to the wait list. Please be fair to them so that they have a chance to see if they are able to attend. This is also important so that we can give restaurants an accurate number as they are often busy and holding spots for us which could have gone to other customers. Giving accurate counts helps us remain in good faith and continue to be able to hold dine outs at many different restaurants. I will send a reminder to everyone 3 days before the dine out. Canceling within 24 hours of the dine out time or not showing up will both count as a strike (unless you were on the wait list and were added because someone dropped out within 24 hours). If you get 3 strikes you won't be able to attend future dine outs.

Vegan Nutrition Workshop
Vegan Nutrition Workshop
November 7, 2024 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Join Vegan University instructor Dave, who is certified in Plant Based Nutrition from Cornell University, and learn Vegan Nutrition 101. New material has been added on how to keep your immune system strong in a time where COVID - 19 is mostly striking down people with chronic diseases/compromised immune systems. Please bring your questions, a writing utensil and paper so you can take notes.
Scientific studies have also shown that strict vegan diets can prevent and often reverse heart disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, various auto-immune disorders and cancer. Dave will help you sort through the confusing and often conflicting nutrition advice in the media so you make better diet choices as you move forward on your plant-based journey.
All are welcome! You do not need to be vegan or vegetarian to attend ARC events.

ARC's 29th Annual Friendsgiving Potluck
ARC's 29th Annual Friendsgiving Potluck
November 10, 2024 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Living Spirit
The food will be bountiful and delicious when you join ARC and friends for the 29th Annual Turkey-Free Friendsgiving Potluck on Sunday, November 10th! You do not have to be vegan or vegetarian to attend, but please bring a vegan dish to share!
Beverages will be provided, along with a variety of vegan cheeses and vegan turkey roasts to sample. Bring a vegan main dish, side dish, or dessert to share, along with a serving spoon (vegan = no meat, dairy, eggs, gelatin, honey, or refined sugar). Your dish should serve at least 10 people. Please bring a list of ingredients so we can be allergy-friendly. Please consider bringing a plate and utensils for yourself if possible, otherwise we will have some provided.
This is a wonderful event to bring your friends and family to and show them how delicious vegan holiday eating can be. We are looking forward to sharing a special meal with all of our friends, longtime and brand new. Location is Living Spirit United Methodist Church, 4501 Bloomington Ave. in Minneapolis. Please RSVP so we know how many people to expect.
We suggest, if your last name begins with:
- A-J, bring a main dish or salad.
- K-R, side dish or appetizers.
- S-Z, desserts.
If you’re interested in volunteering at the Friendsgiving event, we need people to help set up before, staff the plant-based cheese table and kids table, greet people as they enter, take photos, help the dishwasher, and clean up at the end.

How to Survive the Holidays as a Vegan
How to Survive the Holidays as a Vegan

Ethique Nouveau
𝗟𝗘𝗧 𝗨𝗦 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗬𝗢𝗨'𝗥𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘: https://dash.pointapp.org/events/220942
The holiday season can be one of the most challenging times for vegans, as we navigate relationships with family and friends while staying true to our beliefs.
Join us for our monthly volunteer meeting, where we'll come together to discuss how to thrive during the holidays as vegans. We’ll cover topics like attending non-vegan celebrations, hosting gatherings for family, choosing to opt out of holiday traditions, and much more. This is a space for us to share our experiences, exchange advice, and support each other during this often tricky season.
This discussion is also helpful for non-vegans who want to better understand and support their vegan loved ones.
Everyone is welcome! You don’t have to be vegan to join ARC events. Food and beverages will be provided but we would love if you would be willing to share a vegan holiday treat with the group!
