Amber Rhodes has been an animal advocate for as long as she can remember. As a child, she rescued bugs and small animals whenever she could, always feeling deep down that it’s our human responsibility to protect them. One day, she saw a poster with a pig and a white dog—so much like her own—captioned: “Why love one and eat another?” That moment changed everything. For the past 17 years, Amber has proudly lived a vegan lifestyle.

Her passion quickly moved from personal to public. She attended The Taking Action for Animals Conference and The Genesis Awards, where she shared tables with inspiring animal advocates like Gene Baur, Wayne Pacelle, Nigel Barker, and Cathy & Ed Kangas. Seeing their dedication lit a fire in her to do even more.

Amber became active in Minnesota’s Petland and circus protests, as well as lobbying on Capitol Hill for animal rights. Alongside her career as an actor and host, she has used her voice and platform to help people understand how the choices we make every day can have a profound impact—for better or worse—on animals and our planet.

Now, as the newest member of the ARC Board of Directors, Amber is thrilled to bring fresh energy and creative ideas to an already incredible team, continuing her lifelong mission: to make the world a kinder, safer place for animals in Minnesota and beyond.
