Teaching Compassion
Teaching Compassion, our outreach program to schools, universities, and faith communities, builds awareness about animal use in the classroom and offers free resources to educators trying to nurture respect for all creatures.
Workshops
We give free presentations to classrooms, assemblies, student groups, gifted and talented
programs, and faith communities. Workshop topics vary from the treatment of and
relationships to animals, speciesism, sustainability, environmental destruction, plant-based nutrition, and food justice.
Examples of where we have presented include social justice classes at St. Catherine’s University, Anoka Ramsey Community College, Normandale Community College classes and school-wide forums, St. Cloud State University, DeLaSalle High School, St. Paul High School for Recording Arts, Fridley Middle School, Cooper High School, Maxfield Elementary School, School of Environmental Studies at the Minnesota Zoo, North Community YMCA, Southwest High School, Washburn High School, First Unitarian Society, Parkway United Church of Christ, and Walker Church.
Biology Lending Library
The Biology Lending Library, requiring a refundable deposit of $30 per item, provides educators and students access to alternatives to using animals in science, including a chick life cycle exploration set, 4D Vision Cow and Pig anatomy models, and a microscope with prepared plant slides.

Virtual Reality Frog Dissection
VR Frog dissection utilizes the newest technology, a virtual reality headset – the perfect tool for a student opting out of dissecting frogs. Educators can schedule time for their students to meet their high school dissection requirements at the Animal Rights Coalition office in Minneapolis.
Literature
We have developed a nationally recognized brochure about speciesism, “Have You Ever Stopped to Think About Them?” the first-ever designed for those with lower literacy rates, thus making our message even more accessible to more people.
