October Volunteer Meeting/Potluck: Intersectionality
October Volunteer Meeting/Potluck: Intersectionality
October 12, 2025 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
317 W 48th St, Minneapolis, MN, United States, Minnesota 55419
πππ§ π¨π¦ ππ‘π’πͺ π¬π’π¨'π₯π ππ’π ππ‘π: https://dash.pointapp.org/events/424673
Join us for ARCβs Monthly Volunteer Meeting and Potluck on Sunday, October 12, for a discussion on intersectionality in the vegan community.
Understanding intersectionality means respecting the fact that someone elseβs reality may not be the same as your own, and that due to the complex ways oppressions reinforce each other, a one-size-fits-all approach to activism and movement-building just wonβt work.
Let's discuss practicing intersectionality to support other oppressed sentient beings, not just animals and white people's purposes. What if we recognized the overlapping of oppression and fought to end all injustices, instead of ignoring some?
β
Bring a vegan dish to share if you're able.
Everyone is welcome β you donβt need to be vegan or vegetarian to attend. Just bring your curiosity, compassion, and willingness to learn!

ARC at Education Minnesota's MEA Conference
October 16, 2025 7:30 am - 2:30 pm
St. Paul RiverCentre
We will have a table at Education Minnesota's annual MEA Conference at the St. Paul RiverCentre to engage with educators about the use of animals in the classroomβincluding dissection, hatching projects, classroom "pets," and other forms of animal exploitation.
Our booth will feature information about our Teaching Compassion lending library, a 3D cat and bullfrog dissection model, our Virtual Reality ethical dissection headset, a chick life cycle model, and free copies of the educational game We're All Animals. We'll also provide literature outlining the benefits of humane, non-animal alternatives in the classroom, along with resources on where to find them.
If you're an educator attending this event, be sure to stop by and pick up free resources to support compassionate, science-based learning in your classroom.

Brunch at J. Selby's
Brunch at J. Selby's
October 19, 2025 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
J. Selby's, 169 Victoria Street S, St Paul, MN 55104, USA
Join Nick, one of the Animal Rights Coalition Dine Out hosts, for brunch a J Selby's! This is a great opportunity to meet like-minded folks and have a delicious meal while supporting restaurants with great vegan options.
Everyone is welcome! You do not need to be vegan to attend. All of the menu items at J Selby's are vegan!
Check out the menu here and look for the Sunday Brunch section:Β https://www.jselbys.com/food
Parking:Β Street parking is available
RSVP AGREEMENT: Please make sure to keep your RSVP up to date and arrive on time. These dine outs often fill up fast with people added to the wait list. Please be fair to them so that they have a chance to see if they are able to attend. This is also important so that we can give restaurants an accurate number as they are often busy and holding spots for us which could have gone to other customers.
I will send a reminder to everyone 3 days before the dine out. Canceling within 24 hours of the dine out time or not showing up will both count as a strike (unless you were on the wait list and were added because someone dropped out within 24 hours). If you get 3 strikes in a year you won't be able to attend future dine outs.

VegKins Trick or Trunk Potluck
VegKins Trick or Trunk Potluck
October 25, 2025 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Minnehaha Masonic Lodge #165
This event is hosted by VegKins, a one-of-a-kind social network for families raising vegan children. We offer fun, supportive gatherings like potlucks, parent nights out, park days, teen meetups, and holiday celebrationsβall built on a foundation of compassion and community.
Come dressed in your Halloween best for an evening of:
Costume fun for kids (and grown-ups, if you're game!)
A potluck of delicious vegan-friendly dishes
Creative trunk-or-treating β families decorate their car trunks in fun, spooky, or silly Halloween themes and hand out vegan treats to the little goblins and ghouls who are heading inside for the potluck party!
*see photo for inspiration
π How it works:
Each participating family decorates their vehicle trunk in a Halloween theme.
Kids will go trunk to trunk collecting only vegan treats (think candy, fruit snacks, or creative homemade goodies β just be sure theyβre vegan!)
Bring a labeled vegan dish to share at the potluck table inside the lodge
